Roy Velardi, DVM

Dr. Roy Velardi graduated from the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Previously he received his B.S. and M.S in Genetics also from UC Davis. He completed an internship in equine medicine in 1988, and practiced equine medicine and surgery till 1994, when he arrived in the northwest to join a mixed animal practice. As demographics and caseloads changed, he became more interested and involved in small animal medicine and surgery. He has been the owner of Vancouver Veterinary Hospital since 2003. His wife Mary and sons Anthony and Nicolas keep him busy at home with her horses and their 4-H projects raising hogs and steers. There is always something to fix, treat or mend.

Becky Abernathy

Becky joined our practice in August of 2008. She is a part time student and full time mother of two boys Jake and Kyle. She will receive her Associates Degree Spring 2012. She previously was a professional jockey but has chosen an occupation with a lower physical risk. Her insurance company is grateful. She still enjoys riding horses, as well as other outdoor activities-skiing, hiking, camping, clamming, etc. Her sons are active in 4-H raising chickens and showing their Cattle Dog, Cooter. Her three cats, Scary Cat, Blackie Chan, and Sally really would rather not go to the show, thank you.
